l think they can but we never know what will happen. Some of the best pitchers come to the bronx and are a bust. l think those two names are amoung the best for 1-2 punches. l do not think Jon Lester is deserving of a ''second punch'' status either.

Yes, that is one of the best 1-2 is there is. However Wang, Joba is also a hell of a of 1-2, so the real question is who can compete with the 1-2-3-4 they have? Even if Pettie doesnt come back & they get Sheets, altough injury prone, that would make the Weakest pitcher on the staff Wang who is a 19 game winner twice. No one & l mean no one could even come close to that rotation!

Yeah, but could not u throw Daiske into that with Beckett-Lester? As long as CC & Burnett remain healthy, it has the potential to surpass the lethal 1-2 punch Arizona has & if Wang can hold up it can compete with the Red Sox 1-2-3. 18-3 with a 2.90 ERA for Daiske though? l do not even know whether he'd be considered the Ace, 2 or 3 of the Red Sox, but the Red Sox got the best 1-2-3 in baseball. Pelfrey has a lot of potential. To grow as much as he did in one year was incredible. His improvement goes very underestimated because of the amount of wins the bullpen blew for him. If the Mets r able to sign Derek Lowe, they may in the top 4-5 rotations in baseball. A big question for the Yankees will be can Wang return to the form he was before his injury? If he can, they're a pretty scary team. The Yankees have had some bad luck with injuries or regression over the past few years with Pavano, Clemens & Igawa. l think they're out of the Lowe bidding now, but re-signing Pettite is still a realistic possibility. So you're talking about a possible rotation of CC-Burnett-Wang-Pettite-Joba/Hughes/Kennedy. If they re-sign Pettite, Joba will probably go into their bullpen where he is more valued. They really have not paid much mind to their bullpen though which has not been great which is how the Mets got bit before.
