im pretty sure that they have him for 2009 and then theres an option for 2010. im hoping they sign him to an extension of some sort so that the trade they made doesnt go to waste

He probably has no interest in an extension to be a set-up man. He probably will wait to become a free agent to sign with another team to be a closer.

They should wait and see how he performs. He is not very good as a set-up man, and he is also been unhealthy at times. It is never a good idea to commit too many dollars or years to a reliever.
