Oakland is a great developing organization for young players, but sadly they just cant afford to keep more that 1 or 2 stars. thats when the yanks and sox throw huge deals at them

Oakland, l mean look at all the superstars that started playing in Oakland: Eric Byrnes, Jason Giambi, Reggie Jackson, Rickey Henderson, etc..

Clearly Boston.. Eric Byrnes a superstar? That is the funniest thing l heard all day. Despite what a lot of people think, the Red Sox develops much of their talent. i.e. Ellsburry, Pedroia, Lester, Youkilis, Masterson, Paplebon, Bucholz, Lowrie etc.. Sure, they participate in the free agency market & is not afraid to trade for the right player either..
Oakland is farm system is good too but they get a lot of their talent by trading their better players for top prospects. It must be frustrating being an A is fan because they wo not make a commitment to a long term winning team. Boston on the other hand has a great farm system & is committed to winning every year....

l can not name one player actually from the city of Boston, yes their franchises have acquired lots of great players but none of them are actually from there. Tom Brady is from the Bay Area, Kevin Garnett is from Chicago, David Ortiz is from the Dominican Republic. Oakland on the other hand produces lots of athletes historically from Rickey Henderson, Willie Stargell, to Jason Kidd and currently with guys like Jimmy Rollins.
