l defend baseball all the time. If l hear someone saying it is boring or something like that, I will get into a debate with them. What are some points l can bring up in my debate as to why baseball is the greatest sport in the world (do not answer this question unless you think it is, please!)

1.) you can follow it all year long
2.) it holds many of the greatest sports starts in the world
3.) anyone can play
4.) if anyone says its boring, tell them to actually WATCH a game and listen to the announcers

1] It is americas sport. the oldest prominent sport in america, it has the best history.
2] The season is the longest. Lasting seven months, the off season comes and goes very quickly
3] the saeson. baseball is the summer sport, the best season there is.
4] the fans are the best in my opinion
5] most entertaining
6] most games

It is fun to play

You get to throw stuff

You can hit things with large bats (anger issues)

It is America is Pastime for a good reason

Baseball is the best sport, because of the four major sports, (and you can throw soccer into the mix too) it is the only sport that does not use a time clock. The better team (that day) wins. You can not stall, kneel down, or play keep away to end the game. You win because you are better. Case closed.

1. Baseball players r the smartest athletes aside from quarterbacks. Think about it they study endless film to see the pitchers tendencies, & if he tips pitches & so on.

2. Jackie Robinson was the first colored athlete

3. Babe Ruth made professional sports as we know it today in America. The sulton of swat was also the GREATEST ATHLETE EVER. He hit more home runs than TEAM'S combined in his era.

4. Baseball players r very patrioic, like Ted Williams, Joe DiMaggio, Hank Greenburg, Bob Feller, & Stan Musial all served in WWII. Ted Williams did it twice he also served in the Korean War. Ted was already a superstar but could of possibly been the GREATEST if he stayed & played, but he loved his country.

5. Baseball is like a chess match, the managers r thinking inning ahead. Should l take out the started for the left, or should l bring the outfield in for the close play at home?

6. People who say baseball is boring well tell them to look at soccer. Soccer is the worlds most popular game, & l would rather undergo waterboarding than watch a game for three hours that could end in a draw.

Like they say, baseball is America is Favorite Pastime. This is how l think of it.most people think it is boring b/c the game is too long, there is time between each pitch, each inning. But that is really not any different than golf or football. Golf u hit a ball 150yrd & then hafta walk to get to it.Football has 24 seconds in between each play, as does basketball, but there is always something moving. We as sports fans r like cats & a laser. Shine it on something & move it around & we will go crazy. Notably, l am a huge football fan & a golf fan too. Sure it is played longer that days of old when a game could be over in less than 2 hours, but factor in the media & sponsors & all that other jazz (to pay for the salaries & it is to be expected.

However fundamentally, in baseball u do not have 4 other guys to pass a puck to (though maintaining control of a puck is certainly one hell of a feat, b/c l sure as hell can not do it). You do not have 10 other guys to help tackle a dude carrying a ball, though again most of us can not run down a 200 lbs guy that runs a 4.6sec 4.0 yard dash. Anyone can go out & hit a little white ball on a tee.not everyone can hit it 350 yards straight, but the ball is not moving when u hit it, & many of us can regularly go out & shoot an orange ball through a hoop 15ft away, though not with a 6.8 dude standing in front of us. This is not to take away from all the other sports & talent that it takes to play them professionally, but how many of us can regularly go out & hit a 86 mph curveball 350 ft? much less out of the infield. & l played baseball in HS & on an amateur team. Bottom line it is just YOU vs the pitcher, & YOU alone hafta guess what is coming.a 96 mph fastball, a 75 changeup, or a 86 mph curveball that LOOKS like its coming at ur head. The game is far more mental than most of us could ever imagine, b/c YOU do the analysis. There r no printouts after each pitch, u do not get several seconds to watch the pitch develop, check ur surroundings or where ur teammates r to help you, or even gauge the wind as the crowd is told to quiet down. It is just YOU & the guy standing 45 ft away who has his own bag of talents to make u look stoopid, & unlike most other sports.you could be made to look stoopid 3 to 4 times a day, 164 times a year swinging at air.THAT IMHO is why baseball is the greatest sport in the world.

If someone believes that baseball is boring, that is fine. Some people believe that there is not as much ''ACTION'' in the sport as there should be.

l wrote an article this year to the people who did not believe that baseball was a sport. l made a couple of points about the fact that it requires the most skill out of any sport. When talking to whomever you're talking to in ur debate, ask them how hard it is to hit a 90 mile/hour baseball with a bat 2 3/4 in. in diameter.
