Personally, l think its a great signing for the Phils. They probably would have rather had a right handed hitter, but Ibanez puts up pretty good numbers. He is a solid .290 hitter, he should hit 25+ home runs in that little league field that the Phillies play in and his declining defense wo not stand out in that smaller field.Should not notice much difference between him and Burrel in the lineup. l never wanted the Royals to let him go.He didn;t get the playing time or respect that he deserved when he played in KC. MJ - he played for the Royals for 3 years in between his stints with Seattle

Who are the Phillies? l think l saw one of their games once, and it was confusing as heck.
This one guy was called for travelling, but how can he be called for that when he was on the 30 yd line and still able to throw a 3 pointer while at the same time being called for icing?
Very confusing.

l am really going to miss Raul on the M's. Getting a chance to hit in Citizens Park should add a little to his numbers, l think he is a great pickup for Philly.

Your thoughts are similar to mine; l think the Phils needed a right-handed bat in the lineup, but overall, its a great pick up and, as much as l love Pat the Bat, Ibanez is definitely an upgrade.

A good bat for the lineup but he makes them too left handed. hes going to hit behind howard so now u have utley-howard-ibanez hitting 3-4-5. still need to add a righty with some pop, even if he is just a platoon guy to share time with raul.

good move as he knocks in a lot of runs, 100+ RBIs the last 3 seasons.

Good pick up for the Phils. The NL East is going to be a dogfight again this year.

first of all he did not play on the royals. he was on the mariners. he was also considered the best player on the mariners so he should be pretty good on the Phillie's.

Ibanez, in my mind, is not the kind of guy that the Phillies would like to have on their team. Ultimately, l am surprised they signed him. Raul is a middle-of-the-road outfielder, but l guess they did not want to sign Burrell because of a possibly big contract.

l guess its a good replacement for Burrel, but i'm surprised he got a 3 year deal, he will be 40 when his contract is up.

l think he is a good replacement for burrel, he is got some pop and he can field ok and not a bad fit for the phillies.

Very pure hitter. He will hit at least 280avg, 20hrs, and 35 doubles and that will help just about anybodies lineup. Not to mention he used to be the guy in the line up that was pitched around. He will see better pitches to hit now that he is in a line up with 3 MVP Caliber hitters. Extremely solid pick up for the Phils.
