Do you agree with me on the fact that Pedro Martinez, Randy Johnson and Ken Griffey Jr. should retire before the game retires them. Its way better to walk out of the game before you get hurt playing it and wont be able to enjoy your millions.

They should at least start thinking about retirement. These guys are well past their heydays, that is for sure.

l think they could all play another season or two, but maybe they shouldn't. They've obviously got something left, but l think since they have all had amazing careers, they should walk away while they can still play, instead of playing until they've tainted their legacy. Some players love the came too much, & will play til they r literally kicked out, like Carlton Fisk. But l think Johnson, Martinez & Griffey Jr. should all hang it up this year & be inducted into the Hall of Fame together in 5 years!

No, l do not agree. Every player has that turning point to face eventually, & let them find it, EVEN IF it finds them.

Johnson WANTS 300 wins. There is no way he walks away if he can still crawl up the mound.

Martinez, l think, could walk away, but would want to do it from a position of desirability -- some team would want him back -- than after his disastrous Mets tenure. No, he wo not be Boston Pedro again, but he is GOTTA have more left than he was able to show in NY.

Griffey, l dunno. He has not been GRIFFEY since he left Seattle. He could be a useful DH & the job would pay well, but at this point, no matter how many fans he has, pretty much all of them recognize that this is not their Kid any more, has not been for years, & l doubt there would be too much wailing & lamentation if he decided it was his time. But let him determine that.

Its time for them to gracefully walk away and call it a career. MAYBE not Randy Johnson, just because he is so close to 300 wins. But as soon as he gets that, then he gives his retirement speech the next day.
