the Nats because they are in DC also the Boston Red Sox because they are a winner and they would garner lots of players if they had 50 more million

The Dodgers. And they can start by retaining Ramirez and Furcal.

The Giants, they have great pitching, but no offense especially in the power categories (HR, slugging, etc.).

The Marlins hands down. They once had a great team with D-Train, Beckett, Brad Penny, Carl Pavano (okay not so much), Ivan Rodriguez, Miguel Cabrera, etc. But they were too cheap to keep them.

Diamondbacks. They are too cheap even though they have the financial backing. They should be bidding on every top free agent, but yet they want to sit back and be mediocre.

The Twins, they got a good team there now, even after they've gotten rid of Torii Hunter and Johan Santana. If they spent some more money they could prolly be one of the top teams in baseball.

the giants because of how much their pitchers suffer from weak run support.

The Yankees they need to spend more money jk l would have to say the Braves they won the divsion like 13 years in a row and if they could have spent more money they could have kept their best players and possibly won more World Series

l am going with the Nats when they were the Expos. Heck, they'd STILL be the Expos if they spent some cash! They had Pedro, Randy Johnson, John Wetteland, Larry Walker, Cliff Floyd, Vladimir Guerrero, just to name a few. The guys that were once Expos could practically fill out an All-Star roster!!!

In the DARK l could answer this.
The San Diego Padres, who now, because Moores is going thru a divorce & has to get thru this messy settlement stuff is on a payroll cutting mode ( a la Fire Sale..remember THAT scenario?) & shedding an already thin roster & payroll to levels that would make a burger King employee look like a Billionaire.
Rule number 1, u play baseball for the Padres only if u need big league exposure..but do not buy a home here.

The Royals. They've got a pretty good core of young players to build around. A couple solid starting pitchers, one of the best closers in the game, a GM that is a pretty darn good evaluator of personnel and l do not think that it is any coincidence that in the late 70s and 80s when they were a consistently good team they had one of the highest payrolls in baseball.

Pretty much all ur farm-system type of teams, like the Marlins & Twins, could be exceptional if they spent money. They groom All Stars virtually every year for all the other teams, yet never go out & get key free agents to help them, let alone keep their own players. It is amazing to see them be so cheap about their players. Now granted, they do not have the resources & money like the Yankees & Red Sox to pay for all those contracts. But, if they spent even a LITTLE bit to keep players, & maybe bring some in, they can get the national spotlight & fan base they need to garnish money & help the franchise expand.

The Astros..they are a great farm team for the rest of the majors and when they do decide to spend any money, its on just one or two guys when they've got alot more holes to fill. They've lost so many greats, Clemens, Pettite, Randy Johnson, Brad Lidge, Billy Wagner, Moises Alou, Steve Finley, Luis Gonzalez, Carlos Beltran.to name a few. OPEN UP THE CHECK BOOK ED WADE!!

The Milwaukee Brewers, they were right there last season-got their feet into the playoffs.(yes, they did get CC-and that is a major reason they were). Now he is gone and they would benefit greatly from another starting pitcher or 2.

The Pirates, they get good young talent every single year. They do not even sign many of those guys. They could be a decent team but they never keep anybody.

Marlins,
They have already won two World Series without spending a lot of money. Imagine if they had the ability to keep these players, in addition to the solid young team they have now.

Rockies- They have an amazing farm system, but they need their pitching. If they could spend more money to get a top of the line starter, they would be in very very good shape.
