l know the mechanics of throwing, and I am accurate, but I've never had much distance.l would really like to improve this area of my game.It sucks to not be able to throw the ball in from the outfield, which is where l prefer to play.Are there exercises or something that l can do?

you can do a thing called long toss. Get one of your friends to have a catch with you and just tell your friend to keep backing up or you could keep backing up, you know small steps. If you keep repeating this you ll notice more range on your throw.


Or you can use resistant bands for your shoulder/arms.

You have to do exercises that build up your arm and shoulder and wrists. There should be a number of sites on the web that would help you with this. l commend you for not claiming you throw 97 mph and for writing like an adult, two things no other person under 18 does in here.

small weights are very important, also throwing technique, someone needs to teach you to crow hop.

Last but most def not least run run run, devolope lower body strength you have to start with the feet to be able to throw like vlad from the warning track.

Throw with the strength of your whole body, not just your arm..and get your momentum going forward as much as you can..my best throws feel kind of effortless because all of me is going in the direction of the ball...

Hand & wrist strength is too often overlooked by people wanting to increase their throwing ability.

Get a rubber ball (about the size of a tennis ball) & squeeze it hundreds of times a day. If u r careful & quiet u can even do this during class. Your teacher will not care if u r not disruptive.

Squeeze the ball with ur four fingers against the heel of ur hand. This will increase ur wrist strength & hand strength & give u a stronger snap when u release the ball.

By combining this exercise with long-toss, u will give yourself the best opportunity to get a better throwing arm.

Keep this in mind for long toss, too. Work on perfect form, not just putting ur body wildly towards the target. Accuracy of the throw is always, always more important than distance.
