With no team jumping at Manny Ramirez with a lot of years and money, there is a very good chance that the Yankees can and probably will pick him up. If the contract is only a year or two contract would you mind Manny become a Yankee? If you would mind, would this change if he help us win a world series? Remember Reggie Jackson was called an asshole at some point in his tenure with the Yankees.

absolutely possible. i'm a 25 yr Sox fan, & throughout those years the yanks have never been shy about picking up ex Sox players: Boggs, Clemens, Damon, etc. He is a great player, when he wants to be. l loved Manny Ramirez, & when he started to tank on purpose it broke my heart. He is one of the top 3 hitters in the regular season, & the best in the playoffs. So if the Yanks can get him, he'd be a good pick up for them. Hate for him to be in my division, playing for the yanks, but i'm used to our players doing that. However, those games when we kick the crap out of the Yanks, it will be sweet as can be.

There is a much higher possibility Manny will sign with the Dodgers. Dodgers or not, l do not believe Manny will get the kind of offer he is looking for from the Yankees.

l personally would not want him, but l can understand why some would. If we got into the playoffs he'd be a beast assuming he is healthy. I'd love to have him for a year, but for that to happen we'd have to see Tex sign with the angels. Dodgers are there of course, but they have not made a move and do not like to sign guys to big contracts and have other things to worry about. They already have five outfielders. We could come in with a 1 year 22 million offer and could get him.

why would manny want to leave a small fishbowl to go into a even smaller one? and have to cut his locks off in the process? Angels sound like a logical solution if the Dodgers dont do it first.

I'd do the best l can to get Teixeira not to sign with the Red Sox or Angels.

Because if he signs with one of those teams, its a turkey wrap.

If l were GM of the Yankees & needed to sign manny, i'd sign him to a 3 years 78 million dollar deal.

We could use him down the stretch, he just gets beasty. It does not matter what anyone says, l know any team would love to have Manny is bat during the september stretch

Then, i'd stop the trade with the brewers, & do what l can to get peavy from the pads.

My idea: Cabrera, Kennedy, & a couple of other prospects for Peavy, maybe 4 for 1 or 5 for 1.

With that, left over money, i'd resign pettite. We all know Pet wants to pitch in the new yankee stadium, so maybe a 2 year 26 million dollar deal for him.

3. Manny-DH/Left-field when he feels like playing left field(He is gonna crush the Sox in 09)
4. A-Rod-3B
5. Posada-C
6. Matsui-LF
7. Nady-RF
8. Cano-2B( l got a feeling he is gonna have a break out year in 09. Kevin Long has been working on his swing all through out the offseason.)
9. Swisher-1B(Wilson Betemit v2? I'd bank on that).

Pitching Staff:

1.Peavy(To take the pressure off CC) If not, then Wang.
2. Sabathia(Lets see what he has)
3. Burnett( l am crossing my fingers)
4. Wang(If Wang is the Ace, then pettite will fit here
5. Pettite(Gotta love this guy, one of my all-time favourite pitchers) If not, then Joba will round out the pitching staff.

Seeing Manny in a Yankees uniform is still really hard to picture, but if the Yankees fail to sign Mark Teixeira, it could be a real possibility. Especially with the Yanks having a huge offensive hole to fill with the absence of Abreu & Giambi now.

l think l would always hate Manny regardless of what he did for the team if he indeed becomes a Yank, but at the same time l believe u have to have some respect for him as a hitter. He is without a doubt one of the best pure hitters in the game & does his research on opposing pitchers & puts in the work, but its when he does not get his way when he becomes the cancer to the team. We saw this with Boston & how much of a huge distraction he became.

l dont see him signing with the yankees. They already have a load of outfielders & the only way to make room for him is by trading Melky which may not be a bad idea. But then u would have weak arm Damon in CF. l think if the yanks sign any outfielder, they may re-sign Abreu. He has already proven that he will play, & hes been a good 100+ RB l guy. And times r changing with the yankees, l think if they do sign Manny u wont see the ''clean cut'' yankees of old. Hank already said he doesnt care about his hair he just wants Manny. If they do go out & get him then l dont see the yankees not winning the world series.
