The Yankees print money in a room just off the clubhouse so that really is not an issue. And with Mussina gone, their rotation is a disaster, so even if they only get two good seasons out of Sabathia while some of these kids mature, it will be worth it.

He will be good for the first 3 years. l can not remember who was talking about that - l think it was Buster Olney - who said that his best years will be 1-3, and 4-7 could be up in the air (which is part of why Sabathia got the buyout option after the 3rd year)

Well it is hard to tell. He is going to be pitching in the toughest division in all of baseball. So we will have to wait and see how it unfolds.

That would be great. l cannot imagine it happening, though. l watched CC pitch for years with Cleveland. He is a superb talent. The only way this goes south is if he cannot handle the big market pressure or Tommy John.

Its hard to tell. Their rotation is a disaster. Now, they wo not have Mussina or Pettite around and they will have to depend more on Joba and Wang, and that is not very promising. Both are injury prone.
l am not a Yankee fan, but a few of my co-workers and neighbors who are think this guys going to be another ''white elephant,'' like Whitson and Irabu.
Hankenstein strikes again!!

Yes, Sabbathia will most likely be a bust. Its obvious he did not want to come to New York and he simply let the money seduce him. Chances are, his heart wo not be in the game. l just hope he had an opt out clause included in the contract.

The Yankee is now have the two highest paid, under preforming players in MLB (A-rod and Sabathia). He may get them to the playoffs but they will just be swept in the first round again.

Well the money is no issue for the yanks. If he does what he did with the Brewers l think it will deliver.

Sabathia is a good deal, however Sabathia does not want to play in the east. He has said he rather play on the west coast. The only problem is there were no west coast teams offering him any deals. So he is getting a 3rd year opt-out clause put in because the odds are he will try and leave to the west coast if he does not like it there. l believe Sabathia will be a Yankee for only 3 years and opt-out to go to another team closer to California.
