I've been watching ESPN for the past couple of days and there has been a couple of soundbites and comments made by owners and players alike upset with the state of the MLB and in particular the Yankees. l personally, am not in favor of a salary cap even though l can not stand the Yankees. When you think about it, it is quite interesting. Yankees spend countless dollars but have not won since 2000, so were talking about aalmost 9 year layoff from them actually winning the big one. Teams like The Rays, Rockies, and more of the smaller markets team have proven that it does nottake money but talent and heart to win. You would think that there would not be people this upset. I am actually surprised, people act like this is out of the norm for the yankees, when historically this is what they do. What do you guys think ? Agree or Disagree with me ?

the yankees will never change. they really need to get a salary cap in all sports.

The Yankees have the money to do as they please. That is just the way that it is.

l think they wo not finish higher than third this year either. they do not have bullpen and they have pitchers that have injury issues. it will still be TBA pitching against Beckett. Burnett does not go as long as Mussina or Petiette. So they are gonna be taxed on innings too.

The Yankees spend lots of money, but they do not do it intelligently.

Ive fed up with the yanks,why do not they just use all the money they have and use it to pay off the economic debt,instead of buying CC,AJ,And Texeira for millions of dollars

sabathia was TERRIBLE against the AL last year and burnett will burn out and go on IR before the allstar break.

l have not actually heard anybody from the small market teams complaining. All the whining is coming from teams that have the income and resources to sign these players for $20 mil a year but just got outbid by the Yankees. Besides, as you said spending half a billion dollars does not guarantee you anything over a 162 game season.

Well, just how are teams like the Orioles, Nationals, Pirates, Reds and Royals going to be able to compete in that type of a market.

Only the Mets, Red Sox, Dodgers, Cubs, and Angels will be able to do it.

The Yankees are out of hand, and are ruining baseball, and will be the cause of its demise in the coming years.
