With the Mets second staright blown post season opertunity to the same team, How can the Mets still belive they can still contend, l mean it has to be demorilzing(sorry spelling) They have no bullpen, No good starters (Besides Santana) And Pelfrey is a throw up in the air weather he will be the same he was in the second half, Delgado is rubbing cream on his hemroids over at first Jose Reyes thinks he crap smells like roses, the only players l respect on the Team are Church, Wright and Santana

So whats the Deal Met Fans start saying on how your gonna come back next year in win it all becuase you have another player who will bring you to the top and the Phillies do not stand a chance

just wrap up the NL East put a little bow on it and give it the the Phillies.....or mabey the marlins if they get anyone decent this offseason



GO PHILLIES WORLD F****** CHAMPIONS

The last two years the bullpen came undone. Minaya has said all of his efforts will be put into drastically upgrading the pitching this year.

Last year, the team won 89 games without a bullpen. When the upgrade is completed, and these guys get a pen, there is 101 to 103 wins. That is something the Phillies can not run with.

l agree with Norton, the Mets are solid if you look at their team without their pitching, Omar plans to do a lot of work on the pitching staff. If they did not blow half of the games they did, they can win the East by a couple of games. Reyes may have an attitude but his game is right up there with the other SS in the league, some times he is the best sometimes he is just behind Han Ram and Rollins.

l think u r very wrong & u r underestimating the main division rival. The only thing is bad about the team is the bullpen. Their rotation is not bad if u consider how every team in the national league is built & their line-up is just as good as Phillies considering their tough bats run from Reyes to Church (1-6). A lot of teams r dream of a line-up like that.

Rotation wise, even without Pedro, l think it should edge to the Mets if u want to compare it to Phillies. Don’t forget Moyer had a surprising year & u just cannot count on him again. Myers had problem & his fastball is not used to be & l pick Satana over Hamels every time.

Pelfre is very good & he is young. l believe last season is not a fluke & there is a reason the Mets trying to keep him so hard. Once John Maine is back their top 3 is definitely better than Phillies’ top three.

Plus last year, Mets had bad beginning & the end & they still had a lead in September that they could not hold because of the bullpen. They had made quite a few good decisions in trading & signing & l believe they will be able to upgrade their pen even though they r not rich as last couple of years.

One fun fact u need to consider as well is Phillies is 14-4 against the Braves & the Mets was 7-10 against the Braves. If the Mets beat up the Braves like Phillies did, their record will be 96-66. Here, there is ur change of fate.

Why do u care what Mets fans believe or do not & why would u think they care what u believe.

They play the season out because anything can happen. You can point out all the one-sided negative things that can happen, does not mean they will.

What if the Mets said Ok, let is give the Phillies the division, u do not have to play until October. Is that a good deal to you. You sit & watch 29 other teams play for 6 months for a guarentee that the Phillies make it to the playoffs?

l am also not sure anyone cares who u respect on a team. Do u know how much ur respect or lack of plays on anyone is minds. Zero, Zilch, Nada, Zip.

Lastly, adding that nice little word between World & Champions pretty well identifies for the rest of us where ur mentality is at. Pretty sure that real Phillies Fans probably do not want u as their representative.

Phillies will with their 3rd straight NL East & Cole Hamels will add a Cy Young Award to his collection of NLCS MVP, WS MVP, & World Series ring. Whens the last time someone won that in a Mets uniform?

You guys will sign K-Rod & see him for his 62 saves only & start screaming ''Mets r gonna win the World Series!!''. But when September comes around, you're gonna see that his save % was under 90. Man, l can not wait to see all those disappointed Mets fans when they miss the playoffs again!!

The Mets r a solid team that won the division in 2006 & have been in contention each of the last two years falling short by one game in 2007 & three games this past season. There is nothing l see in their performance over the past three seasons that leads me to believe they wo not contend again in 2009. You seem to be a little overly optimistic about the Phillies while at the same time writing off the Mets. l can assure u that the Phillies management & players do not see it ur way & will take the Mets very seriously & as a top contender in 2009.

how can phillie fans actully be bragging when they have 2 championships in like 125 years of franchise history? 125 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2 championships! 10,000 losses!!! go Mets, they will take first in 09!

u phillies fans r such front runners. Your star shortstop even said so last Sept. Remember that? When y'all were 3 games out & it looked like ur season was going down the drain. You guys didnt earn jack shit. Everyone in the baseball world knows that if our closer didnt go down in July than there is no way u guys win the division. The same as '07. We GAVE u the division on a silver platter. All we need is a couple reliable arms in the pen & it wont even be a competition. Just like in '06 l see us running away with the division next year.
