Well its obvious they are going to do something at the catching position but l mean will they try and get players who play other positions? short stop? first? pitcher?

Well, we got Kotsay, & Baldelli so our bench is pretty strong. Kotsay is a pretty good outfielder since drew can not play everyday, he also plays first. Baldelli we do not really know to what extent he can play with his medical problems, but he is a good presence in any ballclub. As for pitching we got John Smoltz, Brad Penny & Ramon Ramirez. Smoltz might have a pretty good season but all depends on his arm, Brad Penny throws heat but he is also a flip of a coin, & Ramon Ramirez should serve as a pretty good setup man for papelbon. Overall l think he have a pretty good team. l agree with u when u say we need a SS. Neither Lowrie or Lugo r doing they're jobs.

l doubt that they get anyone else.. there starting pitching pretty much is set.. and they have a pretty strong outfield and infield.. they may need to sign up a backup catcher.

If they do make any trades it could be for Montero the catcher from Az or a catcher from Tx and the less likely to happen rumor is trading for Prince Fielder but like l said its less likely bc they feel they are still a better team the the Yanks.so most likely they will either sign Tek or trade for a catcher

l would not be shocked to see A. Dunn on the Sox for a 1-2 year deal. Also, if Tek is not re-signed, look for M. Montero to be in a Sox uniform for a prospect NOT named Buchholz, Bowden, Bard or Anderson.

l hope they sign Varitek.....apart from that, maybe they will be in the mix to trade for Michael Young, but l think that would be a long-shot

My feeling is Boston may sign Adam Dunn to a 1 year deal and trade a prospect to the Diamondbacks for 25 year old catcher, Miguel Montero.

l bet they get Dunn. Someone to help protect Ortiz in the lineup

l think they get Varitek back, but he is the only one l see signing with them right now.

l think they will bring V-Tek back on a 1 or 2 year deal, as well as make a move for a young catcher. l do not see them getting in on the Michael Young deal, because then they would have like $16 million a year tied up in two short stops in Lugo and Young. l would like to see them bring in 1 more established reliever to bolster the bullpen.

Maybe my sources are saying (a few) are saying if they fail to sign Jason Varitek,they will go after Miguel Montero (d-Backs) or Saltalamacchia of the (Rangers).
