Is that number still good? What about ARod, Tex, Vladdy, all of them. If you bat 3 or 4 should not you do better?

Several players every year get over 100 RBI. There were over 20 players last year who got over 100 RBI. There are very few players who get 20 wins every year, on average 2-3. Some years there are none.

20 wins is far far harder but 100 rbis is excellent.

It is good enough to get 100. 100 is still considered good. If you hit more great. If you hit in the 90 is you still had a good year. But 100 RB l is does not compare to 20 wins. Maybe 16 but now 20. Consider this. You play 162 games so their is a much more chance of getting 100 RB l is is you play lets say 30 games and having to only lose or get no decision 10 times to get to 20.

If you are hitting 3rd or 4th it is unacceptable. Back in 2007, Andruw Jones got 94 RB l hitting .222, which is terrible for a cleanup hitter. It all depends on who is hitting in front of you though. So sometimes 100 RB l is acceptable, but in most cases, not.

100 RBIs is still good. RBIs is also contingent on your surrounding cast.
20 wins is more difficult. Leave the starters in for one more inning and 20 wins for 10-15 pitchers would be a possibility(Santana- Mets, Halladay- Tor., etc.).

Getting 100 RB l is is good. Batting .300 is good. On the other hand, Getting 20 win is is considered a possible Cy Young. Days in baseball r rapidly changing as u all can see. Those numbers may be good, but they r not what l would consider a ''stand out'' or MVP season. Maybe it was in the 90's, but now it is .325 BA, 130 RBI's, 40 HR's. 100 RB l is & a .300 BA have been reduced to simple landmarks, but what u do beyond that is what separates the GOOD players from the GREAT players.

YES. Despite the fact that many high profile stars leave that mark in the dust, MANY MORE ''flash in the pans'' bat over their head by racking up big numbers for a season or two-THEN ''taper off back to reality''. But a legion of solid dependaple players each year r still sitting at 85 or 90 around Labor Day. 100 is STILL a Benchmark. Especially considering that a lot of guys who have a HOT FIRST HALF of the season begin to wilter during the tough ''Dog Days'' of August & Early September. Should we expect more from someone like A Rod? Of Course! Just like Tony Gwynn ''apologized' for batting .309 one year. But that never changed the fact that .300 was still a benchmark even though someone the calibur of Tony expected much more from himself.

In the end, although we expect more from certain guys, 100 RBI, .300 BA & 20 Wins for a Pitcher, ARE STILL Benchmarks for Pride. XO

100 RB l is & 20 wins is completely different. l cannot name a season nor do l think there ever was a season in which not one guy had 100rbi's. There have been quite a few seasons where no one got to 20 wins!

However 100 rbi is to me in todays game just means you are on par is a #3 or #4 hitter in ANY lineup. l belive to be a #3or#4 guy it is pretty much a requirement anymore. l see 100 rbi is as ''par'' for big name players any more!

100 is my opinion is really good, you may expect more if that player was that good or highly paid, but since today is baseball is hitting dominant, 20 wins is not very easy like 100 rbi is are. l think 100 rbi is is excellent, not acceptable unless you are the highest paid player in the league or hit over 130 rbi is every season or often like David Ortiz or Pujols has like A-Rod.
