Andrew Jones-a former Allstar who seem have lost the bat. He would not ask for much as of a salary though

Oliver Perez- a good lefty

Orlando Hudson- one of the better second basemen in the game today, is he worth ten mill a year?

Bobby Abreu-a great lefty hitter, very patient

Oliver Perez-Boras l think is trying to get him too much money & l cant wait to see who the first team to bite is.If he could be more cosistant than definetly yes but he is just too up & down.

Bobby Abreu-He will still put up great numbers but he isnt worth 16 million. l say he is more suited for 10-12 million.

It all depends on the price. We will see if the economy brings down the price. l am sorry for all the people who lost their jobs today. Circuit City is closing all of its 567 stores & declaring bankruptcy. My place of employment cut hundreds of jobs as well as many other employers. Is baseball listening to this? Does this also mean decreased revenue for the upcoming season?
We will see if players/agents lower their expectations.
l would be wary of Sheets. l do not think the guy can stay healthy for a whole season. It has been ridiculous the amount of different injuries the guy has had.
Andruw Jones is done. LAD put him on waivers but no one will take that salary off their hands.
Speaking of Dunn: he could help someone in need of lefty power; maybe the Angels.
l am partial to Bobby Abreu.
Griffey needs an AL team where he can DH some to stay in lineup.

out of the list, l would think Dunn, Abreu, and Hudson are the only free agents you listed that would pick up any team they joined

What r these players worth to the team in revenue during the course of the contract? That should be the deciding factor when we decide if they r worth the money. It is not always about the talent.

Figure he is responsible for an additional 10-15,000 people per most home games (say 70 of the 82 home games). Figure 8-9,000 cars per game more x $25 per car= at least $200,000 x 70 games = $14,000,000 a year in parking. Now lets say that out of those 10-15,000 extra people over 70 home games, there r 12,000 hotdogs sold x 3.50= $42,000 x70= $2,940,000 in hotdog sales. Beer at $5 a cup x 84,000 (12,000 x70) = $4,200.000. Other food items figure $2,000,000 to $3,500,000 per season. Merchandise? Who knows? A $50 jersey x what? 200 a game? another $1,000 x 70 = $70,000. Add in an additional $50,000 for other general merchandise. Stadium Club? Each meal is probably $50 X 500 people per game x 70 = $1,750,000 per year. These r conservative estimates. Drinks at the Stadium Club. Figure 350 x 10 for alcohol = $3,500 x 70 = $245,000. If we use these totals = $25,205,000. If he gets his $25,000,000 a year he is still making the club just with his being here, an profit of $205,000 per year. Now l can only speak for Manny. l am a Dodger fan. If anybody else would like to try this with the other players listed above, I'd be very interested to see what the financial impact would be on the respective teams. If Manny gets a three year contract, estimating the same amount for three years (which probably wo not happen) over three years, he is made the Dodgers $615,000. l will bet my estimates r conservative in some respects & too high in others so it should even out. So, at $25,000,000 a year, he is worth it. barely!
