Out of:

Roberto Alomar, Kevin Appier, Andy Ashby, Ellis Burks, Dave Burba, Andres Galarraga, Pat Hentgen, Mike Jackson, Eric Karros, Ray Lankford, Barry Larkin, Edgar Martinez, Fred McGriff, Mark McLemore, Shane Reynolds, David Segui, Robin Ventura, Fernando Vina, Todd Zeile

Alomar will get in (anyone who says Alomar is not a HOFer needs to stop following baseball now!).

Larkin and McGriff will get in eventually. Sorry, l love Edgar but statistically, he falls short (and it has nothing to do with being a DH)

Andre Dawson will also finally get in this year. Blyleven will fall short again.
What everyone either seems to forget or just did not know was that Alomar not only apologized to the ump but befriended his son and started a foundation for his illness - l think a lot of that gets forgotten.

Only Alomar. 2009 will see Rickey Henderson and hopefully Jim Rice, Andre Dawson, and Bert Blyleven.

Andre Dawson, baby! Hopefully 09 will be his year but 2010 would be okay too.

Alomar, probably, and I'd also like to see Ray Lankford get in, being a Cards fan.

Alomar will get in, probably on the second ballot. His spitting on the umpire & huge drop off at the end of his career will prevent him from being a first ballot guy.

l am not so sure Larkin will get in, at least not until after Alan Trammell. Their numbers were comparable.

Not so sure about McGriff either. To be a HOF u need about 10 solid years or be a compiler. McGriff falls short in both areas. If only he hit 7 more homers. Plus first base is a tough position to make the Hall at. Just ask Don Mattingly.

Martinez will be interesting. He is a poor man is Paul Molitor but Molitor got 85% of the vote. l also think he falls short statistically. He did not have his first really good season until he was 29 years old.

And the reason Blyleven wo not make it in 2010 is because he will already be in because of his 2009 election.

Probably Alomar. He was a jerk, but l do not think the voters would hold that against him.

Barry Larkin will probably go in. He was a 12 time all star, 3 gold gloves, plus he won an MVP award. His credentials r better than Trammel is who was ''only'' a six-time all-star. HUGE difference between 6 all star games & 12 all star games.

Trammel finished in the top 10 in MVP voting 3 times, Larkin twice (although he did win the award once).

Larkin meets 43 per cent of the HOF standards, Trammel 37 per cent (meaning both r viable HOF candidates).

In similarity scores, we have one of those rare cases in which the most similar player to Trammel is Larkin, & the most similar player to Larkin is Trammel.

Larkin is comps r slightly better than Trammel is comps in terms of similarity score.

Neither player ever led the league in any significant offensive category (Trammel did lead in Sac Hits a time or two)

Larkin is better qualified for the HOF than Trammel.

Alomar is most similar comp is also Barry Larkin (Trammel is the 8th most comparable to Alomar). Alomar is about equal with Larkin in terms of HOF credentials. Alomar, like Larkin, was a 12 time all star.

Alomar.a jerk, as the man said above.how many writers did he alienate over 20 years? He should walk into the Hall, but he will struggle..he was the best 2B of the era, playing with the Indians he & Vizquel were the bast l ever saw..tandem...in a fair vote he gets in.

Larkin & Feddy McGriff..borderline, the vote will spit.. l say no.

The others who may draw a few votes, have no chance.

Blyleven.it is unfair, 289 wins & the guy is overlooked.289 wins on small market franchises.

Dawson..yes, the support has been drummed up long enough, he should get in now.
